Yeah, I have a bit of a problem. Melissa…. (many outbound call employees change their names to American ones)
Well, my boyfriend managed to obliterate my new coffee machine, just by laying his hands on it…(Indian customer service agents are often trained to consider the average 35 year old American as having the same IQ as a 10 year old Indian child, so they speak slowly and calmly.)
I need my caffeine see, I can barely function without it, and the troubleshooting guide doesn’t cover “spontaneous explosions”, sorry I’m just a little freaked out….yes….I’ll hold. (If an agent loses their cool after you yelling at them, they may put you on hold and curse back at you)
Yep! Uh…not sure what the warranty says, but I just barely got this like 2 days ago, and 10 cups later…BOOM! I’m javaless. (contrary to popular belief though, India has not siphoned away many of America’s jobs-and jobs with large American Companies such as GE and American Express have risen due to outsourcing)
Uh, yeah, that’s cool, I can give you my information, um…here…let me dig it up. (The challenge arises in a culture and communications gap.)
Scuse me? Yes the weather here is just fun, balmy, light breeze. How’s it lookin in Dehli? (But guess what? Delta just moved their call service back to the States after the frequent irrate feedback of their customers here in the west )
Cool….(Can I get a “Yeeha!”?)
Thanks for watching! See you tomorrow, for another GotBiz buzz!
